Background
The Cree Trappers Association (CTA), the James Bay Advisory Committee on the Environment (JBACE) and the Cree Regional Authority (CRA) received funding beginning in 2009 from Indian and Northern Affairs Canada to carry out a project for the “Identification of Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation Measures for the Hunters, Trappers and Communities of Eeyou Istchee”.
The main purposes of this project are to:
The purpose of this internet based application is for the reporting and sharing of regional and community specific climate change observations. The types of observations that we would like to obtain are divided into five main themes:
1)Land; 2) Water; 3) Weather; 4) Wildlife; and, 5) Community Infrastructure.
